    Lenovo has brought a slew of updates to its Legion and LOQ line of gaming laptops for CES 2026. The refreshed laptops are all built around Nvidia RTX 50-series GPUs. The new Legion 7a is both thinner and lighter than the previous generation and is aimed at gamers, creators, and working professionals.     xAI, Elon Musk’s AI company behind the Grok chatbot — it also owns X — announced that it has raised $20 billion in a Series E funding round. The company wrote in a blog post that investors will include Valor Equity Partners, Fidelity, Qatar Investment Authority, and others, including Nvidia and Cisco as “strategic investors.” xAI has not disclosed if these investments come in the form of equity or debt. xAI says it has about 600 million monthly active users of X and Grok, and it will use this new funding to continue expanding its data centers and Grok models.…

    Tesla remained Australia’s top-selling electric vehicle (EV) brand in 2025, but based on BYD’s trajectory the Chinese brand could overtake it locally in 2026. Per data from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) and the Electric Vehicle Council, new EV deliveries totalled 103,269 units last year, up 13.1 per cent on 2024. EVs therefore accounted for 8.3 per cent of all new vehicle deliveries in 2025. In 2024, they accounted for 7.4 per cent of the overall market, or 91,495 deliveries overall.     The Queensland Police Service has confirmed seven arrests and 380 charges have been laid following a spate of Toyota thefts across Brisbane late last year, involving an alleged crime syndicate that shipped vehicles overseas. Police allege the syndicate targeted Toyota LandCruiser and Toyota Prado vehicles, stealing around 60 vehicles worth approximately $8 million on Brisbane’s southside between October 20 and December 1, 2025.
